Christoph Niemann's Arty Bathrooms

This is a brilliant idea. Christoph Niemann wanted to turn some famous artwork into a mosaic for his Berlin bathroom. This is what he finally came up with:

I've seen a few photo-realistic paintings recently, I guess this is on the cusp of photorealistic and not, still pretty amazing though. Sort of halfway between Franz Gertsch and the Ladybird book illustrations.

The second one is worth a closer look, too. He reminds me a bit of Catalina Estrada, although looking at her stuff again, they don't have as much in common as I thought.
